Burglar Alarms
As members of the SSAIB, one of only two Police approved inspection bodies, Bramah alarm installations comply with the latest UK standards.
Bramah fits wired and wireless alarms using Scantronic, Menvier and Visonic control equipment, while using Pyronix , Optex, CQR and other makes of detection devices. Our range of devices used includes door contacts, passive infrared detectors, vibration detectors, break glass detectors, pet detectors.
Bramah equipment will be commensurate with the grade of security risk chosen for your property. The Grade of the alarm system being installed in the market place ranges from Grade 1 to Grade 4. Grade 1 being the garden shed and Grade 4 a bank. This being said, most systems are either Grade 2 or Grade 2X.
Bramah alarms may be bell only or monitored. If you choose monitoring and require the Police to be notified, this service is provided by Custodian Monitoring Services on our behalf. With this form of monitoring a secure form of communication is required and Bramah generally proposes BT Redcare or Emizon. They each deliver a reliable service with good after sales support. BT Redcare is built around PSTN lines while Emizon is built around Broadband. Alternatively, should you require monitoring without the Police, then we can set up your alarm to call a number of friends directly.
An advantage of using Custodian is that our in house computers are integrated with Custodian's; we therefore understand most events transmitted from your premises, from within our offices without attendance. E.g. Setting and Unsetting as well as an Alarm activation.
Bramah alarm systems are maintained on a one or two visits a year programme, depending on the type of system installed. Out of hours support is included in our annual support package, though should a call out be required, it will be charged for.
Bramah carries out security surveys free of charge or alternatively we provide price estimates for architectural plans for new sites. However when comprehensive security solutions are sought, a site visit is essential.
For all installations, we strongly urge clients to contact their insurance company at the earliest date possible, to understand whether a system is satisfactory as a bell only or monitoring is required. The technical specifications that are created will be different depending on the answer. If the latter the insurance company may give guidance on the type of monitoring communication to be used.
